Treatment Team

Dianne Alexander, MA, LPC, LMFT, has been a clinical counselor in private practice in Dallas since 1980. Her practice consists of assessment and treatment of child, adolescent, and family issues. She is well-known in the community for her work in the area of addictions, including food and chemical dependency. Prior to the creation of Stepping Stones, Ms. Alexander has served as program director for adolescent eating disorders at New Day of Dallas and Excel. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Southern Methodist University. Ms. Alexander has served on the board of Dallas Challenge, Dallas Council on Alcohol and Druges. She was recipient of the first community contract from Hazelden Foundation and was on the National Leadership Council for Hazelden. She is a clinical member of the International Academy of Eating Disorders, American Academy of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the American Counseling Association.

Kathleen Lewis, RD, LD, earned her Bachelor's degree in dietetics through Iowa State University and completed her dietetic internship and graduate work at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. She brings over 25 years of professional nutrition practice in corporate and acute care settings. Her interest in the area of eating disorders began in 2000 as she actively pursued continuing and practical education in this area of nutrition therapy prior to joining the Stepping Stones staff in 2002.

Sandra Steinbach, MD, has practiced psychiatry in Dallas since 1974, and her experience is wide-ranging. She was Director of Mental Health Services at Southern Methodist University for eight years, where she developed an interest in women's issues and eating disorders. These interests led Dr. Steinbach to accept the position as the first medical director of Baylor University Medical Center's Eating Disorder Unit, where she helped design inpatient and outpatient approaches to treatment.
